About the weaves of UD/3K/12K
The UD, 3K or 12K weave is a kind of different methods for weaving carbon fiber.
UD means all the carbon fibers are only in one direction, as shown in image.
3K means three thousands carbon fibers in one bunch, 3K weave carbon fiber is crossed, as shown in image.
12K means twelve thousands carbon fibers in one bunch, 12K weave carbon fiber is also crossed, but the pattern is larger than 3K weave, as shown in image.
For different weave rims, the strength is almost same.
